You can find me at Real Life Counseling in Vancouver, Wa as a licensed clinical social worker associate, offering evidence-based approaches influenced by various therapies. Whether it's CBT, Attachment, or trauma-focused methods, my goal is to tailor therapy to your needs.

Partner/Relationship Dynamics

Relationship therapy supports partners of all constellations—monogamous, polyamorous, queer, platonic, and more—in deepening connection, navigating challenges, and co-creating a relationship that reflects shared values and mutual care. Sessions may address communication, intimacy, trust, boundaries, conflict, and systems of influence (e.g., culture, trauma, attachment, power dynamics) impacting the relationship.

Common therapeutic modalities in partner and relationship therapy include:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helps partners identify emotional needs and attachment patterns to foster connection, reduce distress, and create secure relational bonds.

  • The Gottman Method: Evidence-based techniques focused on improving communication, managing conflict, increasing friendship, and building shared meaning.

  • Relational Life Therapy (RLT): Balances accountability and compassion, helping partners address power imbalances, understand core relational wounds, and shift into more respectful and connected dynamics.

  • Nonviolent Communication (NVC): Supports clarity and empathy in communication by focusing on observations, feelings, needs, and requests.

  • Narrative Therapy: Encourages partners to externalize problems, explore dominant cultural stories, and reshape their shared narrative in alignment with their hopes and values.
